We’re involved in community building and it shows.

Community Building

We are building a community of owners who are learning how to own their stories, and their power by leveraging their platform for ownership and closing the racial wealth gap. Having a shared cause provides our community with a sense of momentum and purpose.

As a community, we have greater influence and impact. We explore new ideas about ownership and closing the racial wealth gap, which leads to innovation.

We believe in transformation over transactions.

Through community building, we are able to build long lasting relationships, friendships, and connections with people who share the same values and have a common interest.

Racial Wealth Gap Empowerment

We have to own our citizenship, our vote, and our power—even in the political system.  We matter and the things that affect us matter.

We have to repair our relationship with government; tearing down the barriers that prevent us from engaging in politics.  We do not promote telling people what to do or who to vote for; however, it is important for us to inform people with real policies that are being presented as solutions to help close the racial wealth gap so they can make informed decisions.

We Equip. We Encourage. We Empower.

We equip artists, influencers, and community leaders to have conversations about policies and solutions related to the racial and intergenerational wealth gap. We encourage them in their own work and passion areas. We empower the next generation of owners.

What people are saying —

  • Joining We Own Now was an experience I will never forget. I’ve recently had the opportunity to fly into DC with friends and fellow entertainment influencers discussing our relationship with politics and our efforts to push policies that could aid in bridging the racial wealth gap. This eventful week gave us opportunity to not only share our personal experiences on politics but also gain insight and education on what the historical African American experience has been regarding our presence - or lack thereof in politics and economics.

  • "Without knowing what to expect, I attended the We Own Now Retreat because I had familiarity with some of the people there. Little did I know that I had actually signed up for a well-needed family reunion with people who, at upon meeting, were strangers. I highly encourage those who have the opportunity to partake in this journey by joining the We Own Now collective and meeting new lifelong entrepreneurial friends in the black influencer market."

  • "My experience with We Own Now was one I will never forget. The memorable connections and knowledge I gained was invaluable. However, my greatest takeaway was the ability to build a relationship with my state representative and continue the conversation of bridging the racial wealth gap."

  • “My experience with We Own Now was amazing. I left feeling inspired, empowered and equipped with information to get the ball rolling with building a creative space/community center in my city. The fact that we literally walked into Capitol Hill and spoke directly to people that have the ability orchestrate change was mind blowing.”
